According the report of public relations and international affairs of SWO, Dr.Asghar Kazemi, deputy for rehabilitation stated that, state welfare organization render different services for persons with disabilities, as well as 500 occupational training centers are active in different levels in which is paid monthly subventions to our target communities.
Deputy for rehabilitation affairs added that community based rehabilitation activities are another part of measures taken by SWO and continued that we have considered ongoing plans to create jobs for our target communities in following months to sell the handicrafts of these people in local shopping centers.
He went on say that about the formation of national networks active in the field of disability and announced that currently, 5 comprehensive national networks consisting of organizations of people with disabilities, including the visually impaired, hearing, physical, mental, neurological and psychiatric, in order to coordinate and integrate the activities of member organizations and create a national unity voice.
According to IRNA, the care and rehabilitation needs of people with disabilities, the elderly and the chronically ill are provided in the form of day care centers. Based on the relevant specialized instructions, these centers provide rehabilitation, care and cultural services in accordance with the needs of the target group, using the required equipment and spaces, as well as specialized human resources.
