SWO and UNFPA accentuated on expanding bilateral cooperation in different areas

A meeting of introducing the plan to provide equipment for care centers for the elderly and people with disabilities across the country, by the United Nations Population Fund, was held this morning in the Welfare Headquarters building, with the presence of Dr. Seyed Javad Hosseini, Deputy Minister and Head of SWO, Aina Sitlieva, officer in charge of the United Nations Population Fund in Iran, and the accompanying delegation

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department, Dr. Seyed Javad Hosseini, Deputy Minister and Head of SWO, expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation and support of UN agencies in Iran with the Welfare Organization, saying: "These agencies are serious partners for SWO and have cooperated well with government organizations and the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields, including the empowerment of women and girls, etc., and in various dimensions, and we have been witnessing this support since 2000."

Dr. Hosseini added: Equipping  the round the clock rehabilitation centers, educating and raising awareness about reproductive health for vulnerable groups, providing counseling and care services to adolescents and women, especially in deprived areas, training in the field of social and economic empowerment to reduce women's dependence, improving groups' access to support, educational, and health services, teaching life skills, developing an information system and database to monitor the status of target groups (the elderly), strengthening social resilience in crisis situations and natural disasters, supporting families and vulnerable groups in emergency situations, etc. are the axes that can be the basis for developing cooperation between welfare and the United Nations Population Fund.
