Launching a screening and diagnosis system for autism and online screening test by families

A responsible official for state welfare organization, referring to the 1% prevalence rate of autism disorder according to global statistics, said: the establishment of a national and electronic system for screening and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder is one of the services that will pave the way for families to perform the screening test online and easy accessibility to databases.

Referring to the welfare organization's services for people with autism spectrum disorder, Maryam Poursaeid said that: Currently, in 31 provinces, there are 123 daily educational and rehabilitation centers for autism spectrum disorder with 1341 specialized personnel for 4391 children with this disorder and 27 multi-disability centers with autism center with 58 specialized and trained personnel provides services to 153 children with autism spectrum disorder under the supervision of state welfare organization.

The head of the study and supervision group of daily rehabilitation centers of the Welfare Organization added: After receiving extensive face-to-face and workshop training, the specialized personnel of these centers have the necessary sufficiency to implement center-based and family-oriented screening, diagnosis and intervention programs for people with disorders and 71 of the above centers operate as permanent bases for the implementation of the mentioned program.

Poursaeid continued: In order to facilitate the access of autistic people covered by the organization to health insurance services, these people are marked in the relevant information system and the beneficiaries can enjoy related services by presenting a disability card. The statistics of autistic people with health insurance services can be obtained from Iran Health Insurance Organization.
