Expansion of Cooperation between SWO and Iran Chamber of Commerce in the Field of Social Responsibility

The Head of the Social Responsibility Department of the Iran Chamber of Commerce met with the Head of the State Welfare Organization to discuss expanding collaboration.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department, the meeting was attended by Dr. Seyed Javad Hosseini, Deputy Minister and Head of the State Welfare Organization; Seyed Mohammad Javad Hosseini, Head of the Center for the Development of Public Participation; Alireza Atashak, Advisor on Participation and Social Capacity Development; and Dr. Mahmoud Oliaei, Chair of the Specialized Commission on Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance at the Iran Chamber of Commerce.
During the meeting, the Head of the Welfare Organization emphasized the widely shared belief, supported by global experience, that countries successful in social welfare—particularly for vulnerable populations—are those that effectively engage public, governmental, and civil sectors together.
He added that one of the key elements in establishing a comprehensive participation ecosystem within the Welfare Organization is the involvement of individuals, citizens, and volunteer networks in the framework of social responsibility.
Dr. Hosseini also announced that the unveiling of the Comprehensive Social Responsibility Map of the Country, broken down by provinces and counties—a move expected to be highly influential—is imminent.
Highlighting the indispensable role of the Chamber of Commerce in national development, he stated that the Welfare Organization seeks to sign a joint memorandum of understanding with the Chamber to expand the volunteer network and connect capacities that can contribute to empowerment through social responsibility. He emphasized that this agreement should be drafted with clearly defined terms and high executability.
The following proposals for joint cooperation between the State Welfare Organization and the Chamber of Commerce were presented:
1. Development of social programs.

2. Support for Welfare Organization initiatives.

3. Promotion of social responsibility, such as in Iran Khodro and Qeshm Free Zone.

4. Welfare programs in counseling and psychological services to effectively support employees in companies and mines.
