According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of the State Welfare Organization, on the first day of the inclusive section of the 44th Fajr International Theater Festival, Dr. Fatemeh Abbasi, Deputy for Rehabilitation, visited the accommodation of artists with disabilities and held an intimate meeting with them.
The visit aimed to discuss issues related to their artistic activities as well as their rehabilitation needs.
Abbasi expressed appreciation for the efforts of the festival's executive team and described the organization of integrated cultural and artistic programs as an effective step toward empowering artists with disabilities. She stressed the importance of adopting a strategic approach to artistic education.
She expressed hope that, through collaboration with associations and non-governmental organizations active in the field of art for people with disabilities, conditions would be created to strengthen and expand art-based rehabilitation activities.
Abbasi specifically identified long-term, semester-based artistic training as one of the essential requirements for artists with disabilities. She noted that serious attention to such training programs could pave the way for their sustained and professional presence in various artistic fields beyond theater.
The inclusive section of the 44th Fajr International Theater Festival features 22 theater groups from 15 provinces across the country and is being held from January 28 to 31, 2026 (8 to 11 Bahman) at venues including Sanglaj Theater, Hafez Hall, Rudaki Arena, and the Tehran City Theater complex.
