The phenomenon of child labor is one of the major problems of many countries in the world. Child labor is the most undesirable face of poverty and its elimination is the cornerstone of the sublime goal of social justice. Today, promoting faith and hope is a national responsibility that will not be realized except in the shadow of the will of the nation. The dear children of Iran, the suffering children of neighboring countries and other immigrant children have hope in the great effort and generosity of the Iranian people and the firm will of the government.
Eliminating street child labor and other harmful forms of child labor is no exception to this rule. As social activists and non-governmental organizations have been the front line of the fight against child labor for years; But today, due to the recent crises in the world and the region, the need for people's support and the convergence of officials is felt more than ever. Every child who lives in Iran is our child and it is our duty to support their education, health and social, cultural and emotional development.
The factors that create child labor are numerous and diverse. War, insecurity and poverty in neighboring countries and migration, spread of poverty and increase in living costs, unemployment, unfair distribution of income and many class differences in society, lack of education and public awareness, disordered family conditions such as violence, addiction and specific cultural attitudes, the traumatism of suburban neighborhoods, the lack of sufficient supervision by responsible organizations, and the incorrect patterns of interaction among citizens and street children are effective in the emergence of working and street children. These numerous factors require national determination, cooperation, companionship and efforts of all governmental, public, non-governmental organizations and institutions, people's groups, benefactors and sympathizers, and experts.
Therefore, on the occasion of the World Day against Child Labor, while thanking all these social partners, I invite all the people of Iran to fight intelligently against the phenomenon of child labor and to cooperate and accompany in this campaign. I hope that with national determination and the help of God Almighty, soon to witness the elimination of the phenomenon of child labor.
