Deputy for prevention development of SWO said that genetic counseling plan for families with two persons with disabilities will be implemented in following days. As well as she made remark that such plan had been launched for families with more than two persons with disabilities in 2018, but this year our main goal has focused on families with two persons with disabilities. Dr.Rezvanmadani added that the whole number of these families is around 5912 families throughout the country.
Prevention is better than cure is considered as a principle in state welfare organization
Elsewhere she stated that, the main purpose of this plan is identifying common genetic disorders in target community of SWO, which can help to prevent the occurrence of disability, because genetic disorders have no cure, but prevention can impede such disorders and genetic counseling is one of the main ways to prevent these disorders.
