Supporting Society’s Psychological Stability: 5,500 Field Operations by Social Emergency Units During Wartime

The head of Iran’s Welfare Organization stressed the importance of maintaining psychological resilience during the war, announcing that more than 114,000 counseling sessions and professional services have been provided to the public. According to the organization, the Social Emergency Hotline 123 received 27,000 calls, resulting in 5,500 field operations by mobile response teams.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of the Welfare Organization, Seyed Javad Hosseini detailed the agency’s extensive efforts in managing the crisis caused by the war, noting full operational readiness and the mobilization of 100 billion tomans in charitable contributions to support vulnerable groups.

Hosseini highlighted the organization’s dynamic management structure during emergencies, stating that 498 crisis‑management meetings and 25 partnership council sessions have been held to ensure interagency coordination and attract public contributions. These national efforts led to the collection of 100 billion tomans in cash and in‑kind donations, which were distributed as 124,000 food packages, 55,000 clothing items, and 9,000 medical assistance grants to those in need.

He reiterated the vital role of psychological support during wartime, noting that more than 114,000 counseling and professional service sessions have been delivered. Hotline 123 recorded 27,000 calls, resulting in 5,500 mobile field missions. Additionally, Hotline 1480 provided 53,000 phone counseling sessions, while community mental‑health support groups conducted 34,000 in‑person consultations, significantly helping to reduce social anxiety.
