According to a report from the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of the Welfare Organization, Seyed Javad Hosseini told Radio Farhang that the broad public mobilization in support of at‑risk groups during this period reflects the Iranian people’s deep compassion and national solidarity.
Hosseini explained that public donations in recent weeks enabled the distribution of 59,000 livelihood packages nationwide.
He added that philanthropists and benefactors also helped cover the medical expenses of more than 3,200 clients, while another 17,000 food assistance packages were delivered to those in need.
In the housing sector, Hosseini noted that repairs and reconstruction were completed for 193 homes belonging to clients of the Welfare Organization.
Expressing appreciation for this remarkable level of social participation, he emphasized that such civic unity not only sustains the organization’s humanitarian mission but also demonstrates the people’s resilience, compassion, patriotism, and altruism. He expressed hope that this joint effort would continue.
The Welfare Organization’s head added that, beyond material and medical assistance, more than 23,000 new volunteers registered during this period. Among them, 926 have already joined Community‑Based Rehabilitation (CBR) programs. Currently, around 6,000 CBR volunteers are active nationwide.
Hosseini further reported that Moheb (Compassion) support teams — social workers providing crisis assistance — comprise 10,114 teams, 4,036 members, and 499 service bases, with 630 new volunteers joining their ranks during this time.
