According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department, Saeid Khademi, Advisor to the Head of the Organization on Cross-Sectoral Affairs and Communications and Lead for Public Relations and International Affairs of the State Welfare Organization of Iran, stated that in order to improve the effectiveness of the Organization’s international activities and to achieve tangible, sustainable, and measurable outcomes for the target population, a comprehensive review of approaches, policies, and operational programs in the international domain has been undertaken.
He added that under the new approach, the international activities of the State Welfare Organization will be organized in a targeted, result-oriented, and problem-focused manner, so that each international program or cooperation leads to clear, measurable outputs aligned with the Organization’s missions and priorities.
Khademi noted that, accordingly, a coherent plan for the actions of the International Affairs Unit in the new calendar year has been placed on the agenda. The follow-up of memorandam of understanding, agreements, and international collaborations will be pursued with a focus on effectiveness, knowledge and experience transfer, utilization of international capacities, and securing direct benefits for the Organization and its target groups.
He continued by emphasizing that all international activities must be defined in the path of effective service delivery to the target population. Therefore, identifying new activities and programs through interaction and synergy with the Organization’s deputies, offices, and specialized departments has been highlighted as a key pillar of this approach, in order to accurately identify needs, priorities, and specialized capacities and operationalize them within international cooperation programs.
The Advisor further stated that special emphasis has also been placed on promoting the culture of service delivery, social responsibility, and the humanitarian missions of the State Welfare Organization through the official website and digital platforms. The targeted dissemination of international activities, achievements, and experiences will be continuously pursued to enhance public awareness, strengthen social capital, and improve the Organization’s international image. Another key focus is capacity building in the international arena, to be achieved through enhancing specialized knowledge, developing networks of international cooperation, identifying new opportunities, and making maximum use of the capacities of partner institutions, organizations, and countries.
Khademi explained that overall, this approach will be implemented in a phased and systematic manner with the aim of enhancing the international standing of the State Welfare Organization of Iran, increasing the efficiency of external interactions, and creating tangible and sustainable impacts on improving the quality of services provided to the target population.
He also announced that the travel program of the Head of the Organization and two senior managers to Tajikistan has been designed and implemented within the framework of this new approach. According to the plan, the delegation of the State Welfare Organization will meet with the Deputy Minister and Acting Head of the Social Protection Sector of the Population of Tajikistan. Meetings with the Head of the State Agency for Social Protection of the Population and the National Union of Persons with Disabilities are also scheduled. In addition, the delegation will visit the “Chorbogh” National Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities in the Varzob District, the University of Advanced Training for Social Protection System Staff, and the Research Institute for Medical–Social Assessment and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.
Khademi concluded that these meetings and field visits have been designed to gain direct insight into the capacities, challenges, and needs of Tajikistan’s welfare and rehabilitation system, and are aligned with the new policy of the International Affairs Office to develop targeted and effective cooperation
