launching 26 barracks by UNODC,WHO and SWO for women addicts

Reza Tuyserkanmanesh Director General of Treatment and Social Support of the Anti-Narcotics Headquarters said that 156,000 female addicts are in Iran and state welfare organization tries in collaboration with WHO and UNODC help the women addicts.

The Director General of Treatment and Social Support of the Counter-Narcotics Headquarters announced that in collaboration with State Welfare Organization, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) 26 shelter have launched to provide different services the women addicts. "Reza Tuyserkanmanesh Director General of Treatment and Social Support of the Anti-Narcotics Headquarters said that these barracks have served more than 4,500 people, and in the first 11 months of this year, 36 shelter transit centers have been set up to serve 20,000 people. Elsewhere he reiterated that out of 2.8 million addicts in the country, about 156 thousand are women, so we do not have a high prevalence of women in the field of addiction, but there are concerns about its occurrence.
