On the occasion of welfare week, wiith the generous contribution of the European Union humanitarian aids(ECHO), UNFPA Iran, procured 1000 oxygen concentrators. These machines have been donated to State Welfare organisation of Iran to equip to more than 300 rehabilitation centers throughout the country

The head of state welfare organization at the symbolic donation ceremony of 1,000 oxygen generators to nursing homes of SWO, under the supervision of the United Nations Population Fund: said that "last week, 800 oxygen generators were delivered to welfare, which were distributed immediately in 18 provinces and another 200 after customs clearance will be delivered to state welfare organization. According to the report of Public Relations and International Affairs, the symbolic donation ceremony of 1000 oxygen generators to the nursing homes under supervision was held in the presence of "Vahid Ghobadidana", the head of  State Welfare Organization and UNFPA representative, Dr. Sathya Doraiswamy, on sunday,July 18.At the beginning of the ceremony, in a virtual connection with the provinces of Khorasan Razavi, Tehran, Ardabil and Alborz, oxygen generators were symbolically donated to supervised nursing homes.

Vahid Ghobadidana", the head of State welfare organization, made remark that around 51,000 elderly people, people with disabilities and chronic mental illness are kept in more than one thousand daily care centers, and said that: 100 dollar per person per month and a total of 2500000 dollar was subsidized by the government. Also, for 55,000 disabled people with spinal cord injury and severe and very severe disabilities, a subsidy of 50 dollar is paid as a nursing fee, in other words, 1500000 dollar per month.

The head of State welfare organization, while appreciating and thanking the government of Tadbir and Omid, acknowledged: "Few countries provide such a service in this way, but in connection with Corona, from the beginning of the outbreak, the issue of isolation and quarantine of centers with various health protocols and instructions began." While 8,500 people living in day care centers became infected with the corona virus, most of them recovered due to old age with the necessary care, and unfortunately only 500 people died. The head of State welfare organization stated that oxygen generators have been distributed among 743 boarding rehabilitation centers as well.

At the end of this ceremony, he declared the announcement of the National Document for the Elderly by the Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare and reminded: "We hope this document will create better conditions for the elderly community, as we want the presence of the elderly in the family;" He also thanked the 21,000 welfare staff across the country and the 20,000 midwives, fathers and assistants working in more than 1,000 day care centers for the elderly, the disabled and the chronically ill.
