The Iranian team played the Netherlands in the third-place game of the tournament in in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, on Monday and won the game 72-54.
It is the first time that the Iranian wheelchair basketball team reaches that level in world games.
Before the third-place match, the Iranian team had defeated Iraq, France, Germany, and the Netherlands while being defeated by the US and Britain.
Becoming third in the competitions, Iran's wheelchair basketball team qualifies for the 2024 Paralympic Games.
The tournament was the 2022 edition of the IWBF World Championships which was held in Dubai on June 9-20, 2023.
